Hi! I’m Kyoko, creator of the mrly mask. In late March of 2020, I received a message from a couple struggling to breathe when wearing a mask and they could not find a mask that worked for their needs. Without a thought, I ran to a local fabric store to create a mask with their need for breathability in mind. I realized during production there was a larger need for a breathe-friendly mask. As I began to collect feedback from those looking for a mask that made breathing effortless, it occurred to me there are individuals that experience labored breathing, individuals with disorders who have trouble with the confinement of a mask, or those doing high intensity exercise who need a mask that is made with them in mind. As I continued to think about important factors in a mask, I wanted to include an antimicrobial and water-repellent finish to protect the skin and reduce the distance of droplets traveled.

Owning mrly, a children’s brand, I understand the importance of durability, comfort and functionality. The mrly mask is constructed using delicate, beautiful Japanese chiffon, a super soft elastic, and silicon adjusters. We finished the mask with a treatment intended to protect you and your skin, decreasing interruptions to your daily life. It is my hope that your mrly mask becomes a part of your daily life, making it easier to complete your everyday activities in comfort.
